Finals & Fashion Friday

Hey everyone! Long time no post right? Well all the stress, studying and late nights for AP testing and Finals is finally over, and school is finally out which means more posts and maybe starting a Youtube Channel!! Yay! My youtube channel will mostly feature lookbooks, occasional DIYs, I'm not completely sure, but it hopefully should be a fashion/lifestyle channel. (Everything is still in the working, but I've been thinking about making one for the longest time.)

Anyways, back to the post. Yes, finally school is out, and I survived another year of high school. I finished my junior year, and I finally get to say I'm a senior! The (supposedly) best year of high school! Ahh, I'm so excited, nervous, happy, sad - every emotion - just excited to being closer to the end of high school and moving on into the real world and pursuing my dreams.

---

Back to the OOTD. I wanted to look chic (of course) but be comfortable at the same time by adding a casual flare by throwing on this denim shirt. The dress itself is simple, but beautiful! I love the color, and the floral detailing at the top. It's very girly and flirty. I added a braided belt to add more texture to the plain dress and to prevent me from looking too boxy. This outfit is perfect for lunch with the girls, a casual date, school, anywhere! Just remember to work it!

Roll up sleeves to give a more rugged, casual look to any outfit.

Pencil Skirt Posh

Hey everyone! It's been a while since my last post. I didn't get to upload this the other day due to circumstances, but here's a late #FashionFriday #ootd

Pencil skirts have made their way up the fashion world lately, and I love the class they add to a look.
pencil skirts aren't just for the outfit, and with this look, I show one of the many ways to dress down or dress up a pencil skirt without looking like a corporate employee. If you aren't into the whole "dressed up" look, you can make the outfit more edgier by buying different texture/material, or prints. You can even pair the skirt with vintage printed shirt, a plain white tee for extra casualness, or even a slouchy sweater for the fall. The possibilities and outfits are endless!

---

I am in love with this color scheme - especially the color of my top!
The back (not photographed, sadly) is a laced back, which adds a very cute and flirty touch.
Peplum blouses are great because they slim down the waist line, especially with a belt to extenuate even more.

Pencil skirts works on most body types, but if you're pear shaped, opt for a skirt that lands above the knee, rather than around the calf area.

I wear this necklace very often, but I do love the beaded design.
Very simple, yet it gives a complex and gorgeous style overall.

Remember to be confident, and work that pencil skirt!

Quick & Easy Bun Tutorial

Hi friends, I know a lot of us are either lazy, in a hurry, or our hair just isn't working with us. (All of which I've dealt with numerous times), so I decided to post a quick and easy bun tutorial! Yay!

Materials Needed:
Hair Tie(s)
Bobby Pins

Instructions:
1) Gather all hair as if putting up into a high pony tail.
2) With your free hand take your hair and tightly twist it around forming the bun.
3) Secure with Hair Tie
4) Pull the bun (optional)
5) Wrap another hair tie (also optional if you feel the bun is loose)
6) Apply bobby pins to keep the bun in place or fix any stray hairs
7) Style by pulling down some fringe or even accessorize!

---

A [messy] bun is definitely one of my go-to looks if I woke up late and don't have time to do my hair, or if I'm having a 'bad' hair day. I know, we've all been there ladies, right? Perfect for if you're in a rush and on the go and takes not even a minute! I actually can make this bun in about less than 30 seconds (no exaggeration, maybe because I've 'mastered' the look haha)

Boho Babe Series X Hipster Pocahontas

Hey guys, this is the final look (late upload, but better late than never right?) in my #BohoBabeSeries

I'm getting a Pocahontas vibe from this outfit (who is one of my fave Disney Princesses!) This look is perfect for Coachella! A light and breezy dress with a Denim shirt tied around the hips gives a casual, yet flirty look. And if it gets cold, throw on the Denim for an Americana look.

Look #3: A pop of color

I am diggin' the wind in this photo.
Just call me the hipster Pocahontas - painting with all the colors of the wind haha

Light and breezy dresses are a must for bohemian or coachella fashion, and with this white dress,
you'll be lookin' like an angel in the desert. (;

Denim definitely has to be a closet staple for everyone!
It's perfect for that minimal and casual look.

Bangles are the way to go when going Boho! I love the intricate designs
and how each bangle is different.

I am in love with this tatoo ring!
The 'diamond' was a lovely teal color that would go along well with the bracelet and necklace,
but it looks faded in the photo.

This necklace totally flashes back to when Pocahontas receives her mother's necklace, right?! (;

City of Dreams

Hey everyone, long time no blog! I've even super busy with school. It's the most busiest time of the year for this high school student. Registering for the SAT and AP exams, staying up long hours occupied with homework and so on. This will be the last #fashionfriday #ootd post of the month. Sad face ): But don't worry, I will be posting more!

---

As you can tell by the title of this post I'm talkin' about the city of dreams; New York. It says so on my dress! Haha
"Nueva York City - cuidad de Los sueƱos"

For this outfit I was inspired by the street style of NYC. I am just infatuated with the diversity of fashion there. The best of the best reside in the big city, and most importantly, each fashionista there has their own individual style that makes them unique and beautiful.

I saw this dress and knew I had to get it. It's edgy. It's chic. It's different. I am in love with the fishnet type material found at the bottom of the dress. It gives an extra bit of flair and adds to the simplicity of the dress. I've noticed T-shirt dresses are coming to style. It's hard not to fall in love with the comfortable material, and it's quick and easy to slip on for the lazy gal (Like myself) Or it you're in a hurry, but still want to dress up. (Also like myself). For accessories I kept it simple and wore a black and white bracelet with traces of gold and another gold bracelet on top. I also paired the outfit with my brown Steve Madden purse with gold accents to go along with my shoes and jewelry. I kept with the black and white theme with hints of gold and brown. I am in love with my white and brown Dolce Vita wedges/heels! They are surprisingly super comfortable and did I mention CUTE?!

Preppy Chic

Hi everyone! (2 posts in one day?! What?? Yes, I've been lagging with ootds, so I decided why not?) For today's #FashionFriday I decided to go with a polished and chic look.

Blazer | Forever 21
Blouse | H&M
Skirt | Zara
Shoes | Nordstrom
Belt | Urban Outfitters
Earrings | Lauren Conrad
Necklace | Aunt's

---

I wore a plain navy blue blouse and a black blazer on top. I decided to wear my navy blue plaid skirt paired with a black belt to give a better shape to my body. I guess plaid skirts are kind of a big trend now, aren't they? And of course I had to wear some pearls to tie off that classy, preppy look. As for shoes, I wore some gray wedges.

Mint and Spring

Hello everyone! It's been a while since my last fashion post, and I never had the chance to post my outfit from the other day, so I'll upload that one as well soon.

This week {in California} has had the perfect weather that every Californian knows and loves. Though chilly in the mornings, it cools down to nice fresh afternoons.

---

For today's #chicandunique ootd I really wanted to wear this beautiful mint floral dress from Urban Outfitters. This dress just screams Spring. Florals? Check. Pastel colors? Check. Cuteness? Double check! Haha, I really love the mint color (as well as any pastel colors). And pastels are a huge Spring trend (duh). Also, what girl doesn't love flowers? I think I may have an addiction to floral prints. Whoops.

Dress | Urban Outfitters
Necklace | American Eagle
Cardigan | Nordstrom

I paired the dress with a beige knit cardigan since it gets chilly in the mornings. (Also, the back of the dress is pretty revealing) I didn't wear any accessories besides dainty pearl earrings because I wanted the main focus to be the beauty of the dress. I also threw on a chestnut brown belt to match my boots as well as giving more shape to my body.
